A disruption in Krymenengo’s energy network left more than 18,300 people without power. Tass reported the figure, with Vladimir Voronkin in the Crimean Republic citing the first deputy minister of fuel and energy.

Officials linked the outage to deteriorating weather and winds reaching up to 20 meters per second, which disrupted the networks of Krymenengo RK, the state unitary energy enterprise.

Power was being restored in Simferopol, Kerch, Feodosia and in the Saksky, Lenninsky and Simferopol districts, though a total of 139 transformer substations were taken offline during the incident. Crews worked to isolate damaged sections and re-route power where possible, with authorities closely monitoring the situation.

On February 4, outages were reported in three Russian regions amid snowfall. Journalists noted about 48,000 people without electricity. Power was unavailable in 30 settlements in the Leningrad and Novgorod regions, and outages were reported in the Rostov region.

Earlier, residents of the Republic of Khakassia experienced power interruptions linked to issues at a transformer center, with officials describing sabotage as a contributing factor.

Regional energy authorities emphasized readiness plans and ongoing repair work to restore full service, especially as winter weather continues to pressure the grid. The situation stayed under review as crews assessed damage, moved equipment to prevent further outages, and worked toward stabilizing supply across affected areas.
