A morning bombardment by the Armed Forces of Ukraine left about 45 thousand residents in Shebekino without electricity, according to Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Russia’s Belgorod region. The outage affected multiple neighborhoods, with Rzhevka and Maslova Pristan already showing signs of strain as crews worked to restore power. Gladkov stressed that skilled teams would move quickly to diagnose the faults and bring power back to all affected homes and businesses.
One person sustained injuries during the attacks and was transported to the second Belgorod city hospital with a concussion and minor abrasions. That individual is an employee of a business located in the Shebekino industrial zone, the area that bore the brunt of the shelling this morning.
A former resident of Shebekino also reported a shrapnel wound from the same bombardment, underscoring the human impact of the attack on the local population. In the wake of the incident, several private residences, commercial buildings, the central district hospital, a kindergarten, and a technical school suffered damage. Two vehicles were also damaged. Gladkov noted that emergency and municipal services were immediately deployed to the scene to secure the area, assess the damage, and coordinate recovery efforts.
Earlier reports from the region noted a separate incident in the Nizhny Novgorod region involving a fire caused by a drone attack, highlighting a broader pattern of security challenges across the area. In Shebekino, authorities remain focused on restoring essential services, supporting affected families, and ensuring local safety as repairs proceed.
