Two workers sustained serious injuries at a coastal hotel in Port d’Alcúdia when a portion of the building that houses the gym collapsed, sending debris into the kitchens below. Emergency crews from Mallorca’s fire service acted swiftly, deploying teams from three separate stations to extract the trapped workers from the rubble. The rescued individuals were transported to Muro hospital for treatment as hospital staff prepared to receive them. The incident prompted the rapid relocation of more than three hundred guests, who were moved to alternative accommodations within the region as investigators and local authorities began a structural assessment and the facility was temporarily sealed off.

The collapse occurred around mid-afternoon at Blue Sea Piscis Hotel, located on Calle Teodor Canet in Port d’Alcúdia, according to the Mallorca Bombers. The ground-floor gym facility gave way, its debris cascading into the basement kitchen area and burying two staff members beneath the rubble. Fire crews from Alcúdia, Inca, and Llucmajor were dispatched urgently, working with local police and other emergency services to carry out a careful rescue operation. The two hotel employees involved, a 59-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, were subsequently transferred to Muro hospital for treatment.

As the situation developed, hotel operations were halted and the property was evacuated. More than three hundred guests were relocated to nearby accommodations while the scene remained under close supervision. Firefighters in collaboration with municipal technicians continued to inspect the building to determine the extent of structural damage and to ensure the safety of the remaining sections. In the meantime, the facility was sealed to prevent access until assessments could be completed and authorities could confirm that it was secure for guests and staff alike.
