The Pontevedra Police Department is probing a serious assault that occurred about a week ago and has just come to light. The attack took place at Michelena’s headquarters early on Friday, the 22nd, with the victim reportedly beaten and left badly injured by several assailants. After initial first aid in Pontevedra, authorities decided to transport him to a hospital due to the severity of his injuries. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital in Vigo.
The central location of the assault was Michelena Street.
The Provincial Police Station is leading the investigation, which is being conducted in strict secrecy while trying to determine motive. Early reports indicate a man, estimated to be around 34 years old, was attacked by an unknown number of individuals, receiving multiple blows that knocked him to the ground and caused significant head trauma. Forensic Police agents have taken charge of the case, focusing on reviewing nearby security camera footage and collecting statements from potential witnesses who might offer useful information.

He emphasized that the case is progressing on a positive track, but no further details could be disclosed yet. He also reiterated that the assaulted person remains seriously injured and is hospitalized for treatment related to these events.
