In Planovy, a village near Novosibirsk, a man was reported to have beaten his son with a belt on a playground after the child left home without permission. A local resident, Tatiana, told socialbites.ca that the violence extended beyond the son to the mother and mother-in-law as well. She noted that the family had already faced intervention from authorities because alcohol problems had affected the parents, and the child had previously been separated from the home.

“The family is dysfunctional. My mother once attended a correctional school. Both parents drank heavily. The child was removed, and the parents later complied with the conditions set by the authorities: they completed rehabilitation, found employment, and organized a home that belonged to the child’s grandmother. The child was returned. I knew the father could be very strict with the boy, but I did not expect it to be this serious. When I spoke with my grandson, I asked whether he knew the boy had been treated harshly by his father. He said he never complained and did not realize how bad it was. This man has kept the entire family in fear, and the pattern of violence extended to the mother and the mother-in-law. Accounts indicate this was not the first instance of beating. If the mother does not appear shy in public, it does not mean there is no danger. There were cameras on the site as a precaution. The mother was punished for leaving the child’s home to go to the playground without permission. I even saw my elder relative describe the scene as messy and difficult to witness,” she recalled.

According to Tatiana, the abused boy is friends with her grandson and often visits their home. She emphasized that the boy appeared frightened and would not refuse food when offered.

“I do not know the man personally, but I know the boy. He is the friend of my granddaughter and visits us frequently. He appears dirty and hungry, and sometimes not hungry, perhaps with a strong appetite on other days, yet he never turns down a meal. He always consumes what is offered with a genuine appetite, which is not something I could say about my grandson who often leaves a full plate secured by absence of hunger. The boy would sit and eat willingly. I invited him to share meals with my granddaughter, but the situation did not improve. The grandson often has a full plate while the other child finishes with an empty one. The boy has been frightened and intimidated, yet he still comes across as a typical child his age,” she added.

Yesterday a video surfaced on social media showing a man beating his son with a belt for taking a walk on the playground without asking. Eyewitnesses reported that the man appeared intoxicated and warned that the child would be returned to an orphanage.

Local residents provided the footage to law enforcement as part of child abuse control efforts. Reports indicate this incident has drawn attention from regional authorities.

Another recent event from the area involved a boxing trainer in Kotelniki, near Moscow, who was observed striking a child in front of other youngsters. This incident has raised concerns about the handling of youth violence and the responsibilities of adults around children.

Inquiries into the Planovy case continue as authorities review the evidence and interview family members and bystanders. Community leaders stressed the importance of reporting suspected abuse and ensuring support services are available for vulnerable families. The broader response focuses on safeguarding children, offering counseling to worried relatives, and reinforcing the rules around parental conduct in public spaces. Contributors to the discussion emphasize that any form of violence against a child is unacceptable and must be addressed promptly by authorities and welfare organizations.
