The girl who was bitten by a pit bull in St. Petersburg will receive 1.5 million rubles in compensation. This figure was announced by the head of the joint press service for the city courts through the Telegram channel, identified as Daria Lebedeva.
According to the spokesperson, the incident happened in February of last year on Pionerstroya Street. A man was walking his pit bull without a leash or muzzle. The dog charged toward the girl, seized her with its teeth, and threw her to the ground. Afterward, the animal turned its attention to a boy, biting him on the face.
The damage the girl sustained was assessed as serious harm to health. The injuries included scars that may require plastic surgery for any meaningful improvement. It was also noted that the child began to fear leaving home and developed anxiety at the sight of animals.
The court ruled that the person responsible for letting the dog walk improperly must pay 1.5 million rubles to the girl and 100 thousand rubles to her mother.
Separately, reports from Irkutsk indicate another incident involving a one-year-old child and a Rottweiler, with the child in serious condition. This information was noted as part of ongoing coverage surrounding dog attacks in various regions.
