In Castelldefels, the home of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his wife was targeted by four intruders who slipped inside the residence. The Barça footballer and his spouse faced a tense moment when the assailants, armed with pistols and iron bars, threatened them and fled with a number of valuables. The Mossos d’Esquadra launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators, who escaped in a white Audi A3. The details were reported by El País and confirmed by El Periòdic de Catalunya, a publication of the Prensa Ibérica group, and later echoed by other regional outlets.

Sources cited by the صحيفة newspaper indicate that this was the second robbery affecting Aubameyang within a short period. The first incident involved a home break-in when the residence was unoccupied. In this second episode, the robbers entered the property armed and demanded valuables while menacing both Aubameyang and his wife.

During the initial incident, which had not been publicly disclosed at the time, the thieves took advantage of the tenants’ absence to seize several luxury watches, among other items.

Robert Lewandowski, the central figure in Barcelona’s attack alongside Aubameyang, also experienced a vicious watch robbery. A few weeks earlier, an intruder gained access to the club’s training complex in Sant Joan Despí and ripped Lewandowski’s watch from his wrist as he paused to sign autographs for fans. Mossos d’Esquadra and the local police arrested the man shortly after the incident.

Incidents of home robberies targeting football players—public figures known for high purchasing power—are not entirely unusual. Yet in Catalonia, the majority of such crimes tend to occur when residences are empty. Burglaries often involve violent approaches to occupants and represent a relatively small share of the total crimes reported each year in the region.
