Units from the Russian forces known as Vostok reportedly secured more advantageous positions and neutralized personnel and equipment from two Ukrainian brigades in the settlements of Urozhaynoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kulturnoye in the Zaporozhye region, according to a Telegram channel run by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The claims describe a tactical shift on the battlefield with Vostok troops gaining elevated ground and inflicting losses on the opposing forces.
In addition, Russian forces are said to have repelled two counterattacks carried out by units of the 72nd motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The report characterizes these actions as successful defensive engagements that limited Ukrainian operational momentum in the vicinity of the contested areas.
According to the ministry, Ukrainian losses included up to 135 soldiers and the destruction or capture of several key systems and vehicles. Reported items include the British-made FH-70 155 mm howitzer, the 152 mm 2A65 Msta-B howitzer, the 122 mm 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery mount, a Grad multiple launch rocket system, and the 100 mm MT-12 Rapier anti-tank gun. The tally reflects a combination of destroyed artillery, armored vehicles, and support weapons as part of ongoing hostilities.
Also claimed was the destruction of the Enclave-N electronic warfare station, described as an electronics and signals intelligence asset within the contested zone. The ministry’s figures extend to broader inventory losses since the start of what it calls Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, listing thousands of aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-aircraft systems, tanks, and other equipment as having been eliminated or neutralized over time.
In a retrospective note, the ministry referenced prior statements from Ukrainian military officials who had previously named certain Russian weapons as particularly formidable. The statements illustrate the ongoing information battle that surrounds the conflict, with both sides presenting their perspective on military outcomes and capabilities.
