During the recent Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, Deep Silver and Starbreeze officially confirmed the return of Payday 3, the highly anticipated sequel in the beloved co op heist series. The game arrives on September 21 for PC through PC Game Pass, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions following soon after. The prelaunch wave also includes availability on Game Pass for PC and console, broadening access for players across North America and beyond.

On this occasion, the studio released a new development diary that dives into game formats, cooperative play, and cross platform play, among other insights. The iconic crew known as Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, and Chains makes their comeback after a quiet period in New York, stepping back into the high stakes of the criminal underworld while novelty looms on the horizon.

As the team puts it, opportunity never sits idle and with seasoned know how and a fresh enigmatic player entering the criminal circuit, players will discover new routes to pull off the perfect heist. Renewed abilities, upgraded tools, and an expanded weapons roster will enable bolder plans and smarter execution.

the art of robbery

Feared by both the law and the underworld, the legendary gang returns with ample chances for a robber with a plan. Players can unleash their greed and claim the valuables found along the way. Build a customizable arsenal of weapons, cosmetics, and accolades, then tailor gear, skills, and approach to each heist. Every operation will unfold differently based on the choices made by the crew and the team dynamic in play.

As announced earlier and following a significant investment, the game will lean on a post launch expansion model. Embracer Group has funded the project to sustain ongoing content drops, ensuring players continue to experience fresh heists long after release. The plan includes more than 18 months of continuous content under a service oriented model, inviting communities to team up again and again for new challenges and rewards.
