The job and employee service Rabota.ru and the self employed platform Podrabotka conducted a study to understand how Russians search for part time work. One thousand two hundred people from every region of Russia participated, and the findings were reviewed by Socialbites.ca. Cited from Socialbites.
The results show that 40 percent of those surveyed already hold a part time job, and 46 percent plan to take one on in the near future. Fourteen percent do not have a part time job and are not considering looking for such an opportunity. This snapshot helps explain how people balance income sources and plan for additional earnings in today’s labor market.
Among those with part time roles, 64 percent report earning extra income beyond their main occupation. Of those, 36 percent boost their earnings by taking on tasks related to their primary field of work. The rest rely on other side gigs, freelancing, or flexible commitments to supplement their income.
The most common method used to discover part time opportunities was job sites, with 76 percent of respondents indicating they search these platforms. Recommendations from friends and acquaintances play a significant role as well, cited by 37 percent. Another notable channel is private chats and groups on instant messaging apps, which 18 percent of participants use to find extra work opportunities.
Social networks are utilized by 15 percent of respondents to find part time jobs, while 14 percent rely on specialized sites dedicated to part time work. Thirteen percent use sites that focus on connecting with experts, and eight percent respond to street or transit advertisements. A smaller share, nine percent, take action in response to print media ads.
Earlier surveys identified the areas where part time opportunities are most commonly sought, indicating the strongest demand clusters and practical patterns in how people approach side work across different regions and industries.
