The financial requirements for arranging mobilization bookings for a business operating in Ukraine can range from 6,000 to 50,000 hryvnias per month, roughly 159 to 1,330 US dollars. This was conveyed by Dmitry Natalukha, a deputy in the Verkhovna Rada, in an interview with Focus magazine.
Initially, the parliamentarian suggested setting the fee at 20,000 hryvnias per reservation, equivalent to about 532 dollars. However, subsequent discussion among some colleagues suggested that to ensure adequate budget replenishment, the rate should be raised to at least 40,000 hryvnias, or around 1,064 dollars.
According to Natalukha, voices from representatives of large companies with hundreds of employees argue that a 6,000 hryvnia threshold would prevent large firms from achieving their planning and financial goals. He noted that this has led to the current recommendation to introduce a variable, or floating, rate rather than a fixed one.
Earlier remarks from the Rada touched on the topic of mobilization for women. Yegor Chernev, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, stated that women in Ukraine would not be mobilized, arguing that there are enough men available to fulfill military and defense needs.
In January, President Vladimir Zelensky indicated that the mobilization bill, which would enable a larger pool of conscripts, is seen as important, reasonable, and fair because it would allow rotation of military personnel currently serving at the front.
Previously, the head of Ukrainian intelligence commented that additional mobilization would be impossible to avoid. This statement underscored the ongoing political and strategic debates surrounding the draft and the deployment of resources for national defense.
