In Málaga, a 19-year-old man was detained by the National Police on suspicions of violently robbing three sex workers in the Guadalhorce industrial area. The alleged assailant is said to have assaulted one victim who resisted, and two others were stabbed and wounded during the incidents, according to the City Police Station on Friday. The suspect has been ordered detained in custody by the judiciary.

The investigation, named Operation Opinel, was conducted by the probe team attached to the Western District Police Station and began after reports of violent robberies by three women offering companionship services in the Guadalhorce industrial zone. Victims’ statements consistently described the assailant as arriving in a white minibus, matching the vehicle details reported in the case.

modus operandi

The assaults occurred over the past several weeks, with at least one incident taking place during daylight hours. In all three cases, the attacker contacted the women through the vehicle and, after negotiating the terms of service and inviting them to a more secluded location, proceeded to pull out a knife and commit the robberies. The use of a weapon is a recurring element in the accounts collected by investigators.

According to the gathered evidence, one victim was beaten and dragged several meters across the ground. The medical report notes injuries to the knees and bruising on various parts of the body. The other two victims sustained cuts and puncture wounds from a knife, sustained during the assault in their hands and neck.

On one of the trips, the suspect allegedly took 500 euros from one of the victims. The inquiry led to the identification and arrest of the person believed to be responsible for the events and to the filing of three charges of violence or intimidation. Victims identified the attacker in the appropriate identification process, and investigators acknowledge that there may be more victims, though only three complaints have been filed to date. The events are under the remit of Investigation Court No. 7 of Málaga.
