According to a report from a regional news outlet, Evgenia Artyukhina, a Kazan mother of several children, is accused of violently attacking her daughter, pushing the girl onto a balcony and filming the incident. The video appears to reflect a response to a dispute with the girl’s father, who had left the family and is said to have previously faced criminal charges.
The footage opens with crude remarks directed at a one-and-a-half-year-old boy, including threats implying harm to the child. In the same clip, the mother is heard telling the boy’s father that his child will suffer, and that a better fate would be if Anechka grew up away from him. The father then pushes and strikes the mother, ignoring her cries, before taking the girl outside onto the balcony.
Speaking to the camera, the man ominously says that if the child dies, he will bury her, contrasting this with a supposed impending paradise for the boy if she does not leave him. Official statements indicate that the family consists of three children, with the eldest daughter reportedly living with her grandmother. A younger son, described as disabled, is said to have reportedly been subjected to regular beatings since the father left, with initial records suggesting the father may have prior convictions.
Neighbors alerted authorities to the situation, followed by the child’s father reporting the incident. The children were subsequently taken to a local hospital, while investigators launched a formal inquiry. Prosecutors confirmed that all three children are currently safe, with the oldest placed with a grandparent and the other two monitored at the hospital. Officials noted that the girl sustained no visible injuries in the reported events.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against Artyukhina on charges that include neglecting the duties of a parent and torture. Law enforcement described the incident as an act of retaliation connected to the parents’ separation, noting that a video of the alleged abuse among the children had circulated as part of the dispute.
Media sources cited that Artyukhina had previously faced administrative penalties for failing to fulfill parenting duties and that the family had been registered with the child welfare office prior to the latest events.
In the wake of the case, the regional Child Rights Ombudsman, Irina Volynets, indicated that a decision regarding the deprivation of parental rights for Artyukhina is being prepared. The guardianship authorities are gathering evidence to determine the full scope of the incident, and investigators are conducting a range of investigative activities to establish all relevant facts.
Volynets noted that the mother had already lost parental rights to another child in a separate case. The older child no longer resides with her, while the two younger children, a daughter and a disabled son, were hospitalized. Medical professionals assessed their condition as satisfactory, with no signs of ongoing abuse observed during the initial medical review. The Ombudsman underscored that there are no justifications for such parenting behavior and stressed the seriousness of the matter, especially given the involvement of children in the conflict. He confirmed sending a formal request to the Ministry of the Interior to obtain further information on the case.
