OT 2023 Returns on Prime Video with a Fresh Host and Upgraded Production

Operación Triunfo is gearing up to debut a fresh, innovative phase on Prime Video. This week, the streaming service unveiled the renewed talent show with a host of exciting changes, including Chenoa stepping into the hosting role for this new iteration. Beyond the many premieres already lined up, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting that she plans to bring a direct, down-to-earth approach to guiding the program and its contestants.

She described a clear vision for her role, emphasizing efficiency, authenticity, and a willingness to connect with the participants. “I won’t overthink things. I won’t pretend to be something I’m not. I’m not a conventional host, but I share a strong empathy with the competitors, and I’m genuinely excited to experience what unfolds on stage,” she said. The team encouraged her to simply enjoy the journey as it unfolds.

During the presentation, attended by YOTELE, the music format revealed a refreshed judging panel featuring Buika, Pablo Ros, and Cris Regatero as new members. Veteran voices like Mamen Máruqez, the fourth rotating member of the Academy, and Manu Guix, who has taught on every edition, also shared their thoughts. “Twenty-two years later, the fire remains,” Guix remarked. After meeting the new judges, attendees echoed a sense of renewed enthusiasm for the show’s return.

The academy director Noemí Galera announced that the upcoming OT 2023 contestants would be showcased, alongside detailed casting insights. The new iteration introduces subjects such as choral singing, composition, and in-class workshops hosted in a sustainable, high-performance center designed to minimize CO2 emissions. The revamped set will span an extra 230 square meters, reconfigured to accommodate a distribution optimized by the removal of a diagonal camera layout in favor of more than 55 robotic cameras.

OT 2023 marks the first major format of the franchise to be streamed live in the country via Prime Video. Gestmusic, known for producing Your Face Looks Familiar, is giving the talent show a fourth digital life as the platform pledges more Viable live viewing options since 2017, including companion apps and a round-the-clock YouTube presence.

Prime Video’s head of original content, María José Rodríguez, underscored the strategy behind the expansion: the show will be available for viewers across 33 Latin American countries for the first time, and Amazon Music subscribers will gain access to a curated playlist featuring the contestants and their debut performances. The same premieres will be accessible across other streaming channels as well.

A notable element of OT 2023 is the enhanced weekly broadcast format. Each premiere will be streamed live from Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya and will run for 90 minutes, followed by a post-premiere segment starting at 23:30 that dives into the events of the night and the activity of the Academy during the week.

The revamped production introduces a state-of-the-art stage measuring more than 1,300 square feet, equipped with cutting-edge audiovisual technology to deliver a top-tier show. The Parc Audiovisual’s third set, at 1,260 square meters, includes expansive screens, hundreds of light points, multiple cameras, a generous walkable floor, and immersive 5.1 sound design. Tinet Rubira, Prime Video’s chief executive, explained that the ambition is to recreate the energy of a live concert as closely as possible.

In addition to the voting app, Alexa will play a significant supporting role for OT 2023 followers. Viewers will be able to catch up on what happened in the premiere and hear the contestants’ own remarks. An official online store will also launch, offering everything from contestants’ costumes to items from within the Academy.
