The mayor of Osa under fire amid extortion allegations and rumors
The city of Osa in the Perm Territory has found itself in the middle of a controversy that blends allegations of extortion with rumors about personal conduct. Reports from several outlets indicate that the mayor, Alexey Grigoriev, has faced a surge of anonymous SMS texts offering to resolve issues connected to private correspondence that allegedly became public in the media. The messages impose price tags for various services, with sums reaching half a million rubles and more. Grigoriev has stated that he does not respond to such messages and suspects a deliberate plan behind the situation. He has also said he will file a police report about extortion and fraud.
In recent days, an online discourse raised questions about the mayor and his wife, suggesting involvement in swinger parties. The Mash Telegram channel and other local outlets have circulated posts claiming that the couple discussed past events in a swingers club chat and allegedly expressed willingness to participate in new events. Another claim is that Grigoriev harassed his staff. The Shot Telegram channel later reported that a local politician had asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to examine Grigoriev and his wife for participation in erotic parties.
Grigoriev later spoke with socialbites.ca, describing the rumors as provocation, slander, and a political setup against United Russia. He indicated that he would work to expose those responsible and had already contacted the police to seek protection and clarification.
During a conversation, Grigoriev emphasized that the accusations amount to slander and asserted that the couple has been a public presence in the city for more than 30 years. He indicated that a police statement had been made to initiate a criminal case under the aspect of slander, hoping that supervisory authorities would bring the culprits to light. He also noted that the ongoing election campaign in the district has intensified the spread of negative material on his deputies and the United Russia team. He described the scenario as a political maneuver aimed at discrediting their local efforts and stressed that residents are sensible and informed, and will reach a just conclusion.
Separately, reports out of the Orenburg region described a separate incident where a young man harassed a schoolgirl and engaged in blackmail, underscoring broader concerns about wrongdoing and abuse of power beyond the Osa case.
