The governor of the Orenburg region, Denis Pasler, reported via the telegraph channel that the number of preschoolers hospitalized in Orsk due to yogurt-related illness has risen to nine, though their lives remain safe. He clarified that nine of the thirty-six children who sought medical care were admitted to hospitals.
According to Pasler, the health of these children is stable and under continuous medical supervision. The remaining symptoms associated with the illness have already abated, and their status will continue to be monitored at home in the coming hours.
On July 12, the Investigative Committee for the Orenburg region disclosed the opening of a criminal case in Orsk linked to the yogurt poisoning incident involving children.
Earlier reports indicated that the regional ambulance service had received thirty-six complaints from concerned parents. All affected youngsters shared similar symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, fever, and loose stools, prompting medical evaluation and care.
Following an operational check, it was confirmed that all the affected children aged three to six years were pupils from various kindergartens across Orsk. City officials indicated that the yogurt consumed by the children originated from the Novotroitsk Dairy Plant, tying the product to the outbreak under investigation by regional authorities.
A separate note mentions a Kazan resident previously detained for possession of a large amount of gummy bears, linking unrelated criminal activity to the broader context of public safety concerns.
