A recent OneTwoTrip study, summarized by socialbites.ca, shows that more than half of Russians planning trips for the November weekend intend to stay within the country. This year National Unity Day falls on Saturday, November 4, and the official time off has been shifted to Monday, creating a long weekend opportunity for domestic exploration and short escapes across Russia.
Domestic travel dominates bookings, with Russia accounting for about two thirds of total reservations. Other popular Russian cities include Kazan at 7.0 percent, Sochi at 6.0 percent, Adler at 5.0 percent, Kaliningrad at 4.6 percent, Nizhny Novgorod at 4.0 percent, Esto-Sadok at 3.8 percent, and Makhachkala at 1.0 percent. Zelenogradsk also appears with around 1.3 percent of travelers.
For international stays, Istanbul in Turkey leads the foreign destinations with 8.7 percent of hotel bookings. Demand also remains steady for Minsk in Belarus (5.0 percent) and Dubai (4.5 percent). Additional popular partners include Beijing (4.1 percent), Baku (3.4 percent), Yerevan (3.0 percent), Rome (2.4 percent), Milan (2.0 percent), Samarkand (1.9 percent), and Paris (1.5 percent).

Similar trends were observed in prior reports, highlighting a growing preference for nearby, Europe-adjacent and historically popular destinations. Travelers appear to value shorter durations, favorable exchange rates, and convenient flight times, alongside the comfort of familiar accommodations and the reassurance of well-established travel networks during a holiday weekend.
