The Norwegian government has decided to provide Ukraine with 1,000 additional drones. This initiative comes from the defense ministry’s official channels.

According to Norway’s defense minister, the Ukrainian government and its partners have welcomed previous Norway-backed deliveries. The drones in question are reconnaissance models developed through collaboration between the Norwegian armed forces and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment.

The unmanned aerial vehicle is produced domestically in Norway under the Black Hornet name. Officials confirm that Norway will supply Ukraine with a thousand new units, expanding an earlier deployment.

It has been reported that Ukrainian authorities requested the equipment for use in the ongoing conflict. The Norwegian Ministry of Defense notes that the drone, designed by the Norwegian company Teledyne FLIR, holds a prominent position in the global market.

The drones are described as easy to operate, hard to detect, and well suited for reconnaissance and target spotting in urban environments. These attributes make them compatible with a variety of allied defense operations, including those of the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Ministry has emphasized that the equipment is intended to support allied efforts in dense operational settings while maintaining high usability for frontline crews.

Norway and Denmark agreed on June 15 to transfer an additional nine thousand artillery shells to Ukraine, reinforcing ongoing military support for Kyiv.

Former Norwegian foreign minister has indicated a broader commitment to Ukraine through a five-year military aid program valued at approximately seven billion euros.
