Nine Injured as Car Mounts Sidewalk in Valladolid Incident

Nine people were injured on Wednesday afternoon in Valladolid when a car mounted the sidewalk after colliding with another vehicle in the Doctor Quemada square. The injuries ranged from moderate to serious, and the victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Emergency services reported that around eight in the evening a flood of calls alerted responders to the crash. At least one person was reported to be trapped beneath the vehicle, prompting a swift and coordinated rescue effort.

A total of nine individuals received medical attention from Sacyl, the regional health service. Among them were two women and two girls aged eight and six who were transported by ambulance with basic life support to Río Hortega Hospital for evaluation and care.

Two additional women and three more girls, aged eight, five, and four, were carried by a mobile ICU to the Hospital Clínico Universitario for further assessment and treatment.

The 1-1-2 emergency line notified Valladolid’s Municipal Police, the city fire department, the National Police, and the Sacyl incident command center. A mobile ICU and two basic life support ambulances were dispatched as part of the immediate response to the scene.

Investigations were started to determine the sequence of events leading up to the crash, and authorities urged the public to avoid the area as emergency crews continued their work. The incident underscores the importance of quick, organized emergency response in urban settings and the ongoing need for road safety awareness for drivers and pedestrians alike.
