Nine accomplices detained after attacks on law enforcement in Ingushetia, authorities report

Authorities say nine suspected accomplices of a bandit group involved in attacks on a traffic police station and other law enforcement officers in Ingushetia were detained in March and April. Local officials confirmed the arrests, noting that investigations continue to unfold around the incident and those linked to it.

In the investigators’ account, testimonies indicated the discovery of stash points containing weapons and ammunition. Nine individuals, residents of Ingushetia and the neighboring Chechen Republic, were identified as helping the criminals, assisting their movement and seeking shelter. They were subsequently detained as part of the broader operation.

Coordinated actions by security agencies, internal affairs authorities, and the National Guard led to rapid progress on the ground. Four intruders were tracked down and neutralized in a subsequent shootout, while two more suspects were taken into custody without further escalation. The success of these measures underscores the quick and decisive collaboration among regional security structures.

Officials urged residents living near ongoing counter-terrorism operations to remain vigilant and to cooperate with authorities to curb the activities of the armed group. This advisory stresses the importance of timely reporting and community vigilance in supporting security forces during delicate investigations and operations.

Earlier information from the Federal Security Service and regional authorities indicated the arrest of a suspect connected to the attack on law enforcement in Ingushetia, reinforcing the ongoing focus on dismantling the group and preventing further harm to officers and civilians.
