The head of the Nikolaev regional military administration, Vitaly Kim, reported on his social media page that preliminary information indicates an industrial facility in Nikolaev sustained damage during a recent strike. The fire at the site had already been put out by the time updates were issued. Kim described the incident on the public channel, noting that a two-story building within the enterprise was destroyed due to the reported hit by ammunition.
According to Kim, a fire began after the bombardment but was contained and extinguished in a short period. The announcement did not include additional details about the broader situation in Nikolaev, Ukraine.
Reports emerging from the area indicate that in April there were two people who were injured as a result of a grenade explosion in Nikolaev. The assailant and a woman nearby sustained injuries during that incident.
Earlier in January, residents heard an explosion in Nikolaev, and an air raid alert was declared. At about 7:15 in the morning Moscow time, authorities issued an advisory for the Nikolaev and Odessa regions, with the alert remaining in effect for roughly 45 minutes.
