a 64-year-old man, previously arrested five times for sexual abuse offenses, has been detained on suspicion of involvement in a human trafficking ring intended for sexual exploitation. He is accused of deceiving a woman in a disordered setting in Spain, luring her to a country house in Dolores with the aim of exploiting her for prostitution, on the first day of her captivity.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Orihuela Court of Inquiry. He was ordered to prison pending formal charges for alleged crimes including human trafficking for sexual exploitation, sexual assault, and unlawful detention, according to local authorities.

Investigators located online advertisements linked to the suspect, a Spanish national, offering jobs as a cook, waiter, or cleaner. One advertisement reportedly described the residence as a place to be used as a hostess club for illicit activities, raising concerns about trafficking infrastructure.

Complaint

Following the victim’s complaint, authorities launched a formal inquiry. The Alicante Provincial Police Station confirmed that the complainant was restrained and sexually assaulted after being misled with a promise of employment as a house cleaner.

The victim, who was residing irregularly in Spain at the time, reported to investigators that she had traveled to Barcelona earlier in the year and, after exhausting her financial resources, found an online advertisement for a cleaner position at a chalet in Dolores.

Calvary

After the victim traveled by train and was picked up at Alicante station by the man offering the job, she was taken to a country house in Dolores where the assault began upon arrival. She described a chilling pattern: the detainee assaulted her shortly after her arrival, and she alleged that other women associated with the same operator had relations with him during the period of coercive control, as the owner allegedly ran several brothels.

The detainee reportedly claimed that another woman would collect her the following day to take her away. He then confined her in a room at the residence; the scene allegedly showed signs of violence, with blood and semen, used condoms, odors of urine, and significant dirt, according to the National Police.

That same night, the victim escaped from the room where she was confined, leaping over the farm perimeter and the chalet’s fence. Despite injuries sustained during the escape, a taxi driver assisted her, and she sought help from the National Police.

Investigators collected the woman’s statements, corroborating the events and identifying the alleged perpetrator. They located the crime scene and the property where the country house is situated, guiding the subsequent arrests and investigations.

During the operation, officers from Group 1 of the Unit for Combating Illegal Immigration and Document Forgery Networks (UCRIF) at the Alicante Provincial Police Station conducted multiple apprehensions related to sexual abuse offenses, forming a critical part of the case file and ongoing investigation.
