Alexander Shoitov, Deputy Head of the Ministry, outlined that the desensitization center could come into being in 2024. He emphasized the initial step would be to draft a detailed layout for the center, outlining the software and hardware framework required. As the project moves forward, research into the depersonalization of personal data would run in parallel, ensuring that privacy protections keep pace with technical progress.
The first version of the center’s layout, prepared on the basis of the National Center for Digital Cryptography Technology, was slated to be ready by year’s end. A functional prototype, offering several options for initial data sets, was planned to reach completion before the close of 2024. Alongside this, work on the desensitization center itself was mapped out to continue in parallel and was expected to culminate in 2024.
Another voice in the discussion, a former scientist named Tatyana Chernigovskaya, warned about the dangers posed by unchecked and rapid growth of artificial intelligence, neural networks, and chatbots.
