Raquel Sánchez, minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, announced that the ministry is ready to launch a fresh call next month. A sum of 500 million euros from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) will fund the deployment of Low Emission Zones and drive the digital and sustainable transformation of urban transport. This new allocation complements an earlier package of one billion euros awarded to local companies, funds that have already been disbursed and, in the minister’s view, were successful. The high-speed rail network in Spain is set to expand by about 350 kilometers in under a month, marking three major milestones: the new connection between Atocha and Chamartín, the consolidation of the line to Extremadura, and the new route linking Plasencia and Badajoz, along with further progress on the high-speed corridor to Burgos.
