This neighborhood known as Palma-Son Banya was under detention operations at the end of March after a major crackdown. The Civil Guard had received tips about planned drug busts and moved to disrupt the arrests before they could occur. Investigators, who gained access to communications, noted that some defendants discussed the planned operations, a finding reported by Mallorca’s major local newspaper. Court records and investigative reports point to a central figure described as a police informant who allegedly led the organization. This individual is reported to be the son-in-law of a well-known local trader associated with the El Moreno faction. In this case, the two senior traders from Son Banya were subjects of scrutiny and formal inquiry.
