Late night disturbances on Navas de Tolosa Street in the Zaragoza neighborhood known as Pleasure drew the attention of a nearby resident. Exhausted by the inability to sleep, the neighbor looked out his window and witnessed troubling activity unfolding before him: an apparent attempt at sexual assault directed at a young woman who had, unintentionally, created loud noises. The neighbor’s intervention helped prevent a violent assault and, as a result, led to the arrest of the suspect(s).

At approximately 5:40 a.m. last Saturday, the resident on this street recalled hearing cries like, “Let me go!” or “Get out!” When he peered outside, he saw one man kissing the woman on the mouth while another man touched her inappropriately. The incident occurred in front of building number 30 on this street. The woman tried to escape, but she was unable to break free as her assailants tightened their grip.

Perceiving the seriousness of what was happening, the neighbor pulled out his cell phone to record and planned to relay the footage to the National Police. After several minutes, however, he chose to seek help from authorities directly by contacting emergency services. From his vantage point above the scene, he called out to the assailants to leave the woman alone, and the attackers appeared to intensify their actions until it became clear to them that recording was underway. They fled the scene in haste, leaving the woman crying on the ground.

The neighbor proceeded to descend the street to stay with the victim while additional police units from the Aragon Civil Guard, designated as the Supreme Headquarters Citizens’ Security Brigade, arrived on site. Patrols established a perimeter, attended to the injured woman, and pursued the suspects.

Both suspects were eventually apprehended. The witness’s description enabled officers to locate them promptly. The two men were identified as JLVs, a 42-year-old Colombian resident, and JAVR, a 70-year-old individual from Ecuador, who were immediately taken into custody on suspicion of sexual assault.

After their arrest, the suspects were escorted to a secure location for processing. The woman, distressed by the events, was assisted by police personnel and transported to a medical facility for evaluation. She was later taken to the Mother and Child Hospital in Zaragoza after the formal activation of the sexual assault protocol. Biological samples were collected as part of the investigation.

The investigation is being led by the examining magistrate of Court No. 2 in Zaragoza, who was on duty at the time of the incident. Mobile phone evidence from the witness will form part of the identification process, though it is expected to be supplementary and of short duration as the case progresses.

The events have prompted a review of local safety measures and a reminder of the importance of reporting suspicious behavior promptly. Authorities emphasized the role of vigilant neighbors and quick police response in protecting potential victims and ensuring a swift resolution to such cases. The ongoing inquiry remains open, with further procedures and testimonies anticipated as the court proceeds with the case. For those interested in the official proceedings, the following updates will be provided as they become available through credible public channels and court records.
