A December case of robbery with violence has been resolved by the National Police following a thorough investigation. The incident began as a violent theft on a public street, where the assailant swiftly approached the victim, grabbed a shoulder-hanging waist bag, and fled, causing minor injuries to the victim before disappearing from sight.
During the police proceedings conducted by the Judicial Police Group of Orihuela, sparked by a formal complaint, the victim identified the suspected aggressor in a Redován café after noticing an unauthorized charge on one of the robbed credit cards in the days prior. The quick actions of the National Police led to the identification of two individuals inside the establishment who could be connected to the events and prompted the recovery of the stolen credit card. The fraudulent transaction involving the credit card used by the suspect was confirmed through careful investigative work and corroborated by security camera footage from the café, which established a link between the individual later detained and the victim’s compromised card.
The investigation proceeded swiftly, with officers gathering statements and reviewing footage to piece together the sequence of events.
