The National Police in Madrid have reported the arrest of a gang responsible for a theft spree that included the looting of a computer and tablet warehouse in Zaragoza. Officers say the stolen items were kept for two days, then stored, displayed, and sold in a basement located in the Orcasitas neighborhood, with an estimated value of around two million euros.
Three suspects, aged 27 and 28, are in custody for the robbery carried out on the 12th of the month. They are also accused of another break-in in Ávila where nearly 300 laptops of various brands were stolen.
For Sale at Orcasitas
Initial police intelligence suggested that the equipment stolen from a residence in Orcasitas could be moved for sale. Investigators soon connected these items to the Zaragoza robbery that occurred on the 12th, linking the perpetrators to a break-in described as a tunnel entry, and the subsequent two days of handling devices such as tablets and computers valued at approximately two million euros.
Last Monday, two individuals were seen exiting a vehicle with two bags of electronics, later identified as stolen goods in police records, and were immediately detained. The following day, police attended a suspected residence where a seemingly inaccessible basement was found, tucked behind a barn on the ground level. There, a substantial collection of computers, tablets, and similar devices, all with intact factory seals, was recovered.
Law enforcement conducted initial examinations and confirmed that the recovered items originated from the Zaragoza robbery. Further inquiries revealed that one of the gang members, considered the leader, also took part in another burglary in Ávila last November, during which roughly 300 laptops from different brands were stolen, according to police sources.
