A person was detained by national police after a theft occurred moments earlier in the El Altet neighborhood of El Altet. The suspect is a 24-year-old man of Algerian nationality who was arrested at the scene.

The CIMACC room 091 received a report from a resident who used security cameras to observe a man breaking into a home. The tip indicated a burglary was in progress inside the residence.

In response, agents from the Citizen Security Brigade and Judicial Police at the Elche National Police Station coordinated a rapid operation. The device displayed police signals as officers sealed off the perimeter around the breached home and monitored every plausible route to prevent the suspect’s escape.

When the suspect was spotted, police units initiated pursuit. The man attempted to flee by running across rooftops between adjacent buildings. He sought refuge in a building’s common stairwell but was ultimately apprehended by the officers.

Inside the arrested person’s belongings were various items stolen from the residence, including jewelry, mobile phones, electronic devices, tools, gloves used during the theft, and car keys. The officers conducted a search of the keys and determined the vehicle involved was a parked car that the detainee had used to transport himself and the stolen goods.

Further searches revealed these items belonged to a victim of an earlier robbery. In a lady’s bag found at the scene were jewelry, a mobile phone, and other personal documents, linking the suspect to the crime and confirming the loss suffered by the victim.

The detainee was placed under arrest and handed over to the Elche Town Court for processing.

The arrest was conducted under the special team-driven initiative focused on preventing robberies in the area that the Elche National Police Station operates. The ongoing investigation will determine whether the suspect is linked to additional home burglaries.

Authorities noted that the detainee has expertise in bypassing entry points, including the sliding door method, which helped shape the early stage of the case. The case continues to be developed by the research group as officers gather further evidence and interview witnesses to clarify the full scope of the alleged criminal activity.
