National Police Arrests Four Members of Alicante Crime Ring Linked to Multiple Property Crimes
A recent operation by the National Police disrupted a functioning Alicante group accused of committing numerous property-related offenses. Four active members were detained as part of a coordinated effort to dismantle the network, which allegedly carried out around a dozen robberies affecting residences, vehicles, and individuals.
The investigation, led by the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade, began at the Alicante Provincial Police Station after a complaint from a resident. The claimant reported that someone burglarized his home while he slept, entering through a balcony and taking three bank cards and a mobile phone. The account provided initial leads that helped map the group’s activities and methods.
Following preliminary inquiries, authorities identified a Spaniard as one of the perpetrators responsible for the stolen mobile device and linked him to another burglary at a separate Alicante residence, where a large television and a video game console were taken. This connection prompted deeper scrutiny of the suspects and their possible role in additional crimes.
As the inquiry progressed, investigators confirmed the involvement of more individuals: a second man, a third man, and a woman who potentially aided in the sale of stolen items. The growing circle of suspects led to a judicial warrant to search their residence, where authorities recovered a range of affected possessions suspected to belong to the defendants and others involved in the case. Among the seized items were several identity documents, multiple bank cards, electronic devices, a video game console, cash from various countries, several mobile phones, and transportation equipment like an electric scooter and motorcycle keys. These findings suggested a broader pattern of criminal behavior and helped substantiate the link to the alleged offenses.
During the operation, investigators cross-verified the items found at the homes and traced them to the reported crimes. The evidence connected the defendants to up to ten incidents described as violent robberies, home invasions, vehicle robberies, and thefts. Each charge reflected the severity of the actions and their impact on victims, reinforcing the case against the four individuals now under review by the Alicante guard court. The charges include extortion using violence, home robbery, vehicle robbery, theft, receiving stolen goods, and membership in a criminal organization. The accumulation of evidence also pointed to a pattern of property crimes among the group members.
Throughout the inquiry, investigators noted that the four detainees appeared to have limited legitimate income and harbored prior criminal records related to property offenses.
