National Police officers arrested and identified two individuals and opened an investigation into a case where a woman was kept in a house against her will in Hellín, Albacete, given medication and subjected to sexual assault. Four days later, the 30-year-old victim managed to escape from her captors and contact authorities for help.
According to a press release issued by the National Police on Tuesday, the detainees include a man and a woman. A third male suspect has been fully identified, and the search for him continues as the inquiry proceeds.
They face charges of unlawful detention and restraint, with additional accusations tied to public health concerns from September 10 to 14. The investigation indicates that the victim was held against her will in the residence during this period and that one of the detainees is suspected of sexually assaulting her during the captivity.
In the early hours of September 14, authorities found the 30-year-old victim wandering on public streets in a state of distress. She received immediate medical attention from health services and security forces, who coordinated to ensure her safety. The victim later described how an acquaintance invited her to his home four days earlier, where she was forcibly given various medicines and a white powder that he rubbed into her nose, a detail corroborated by investigators who located similar substances at the scene.
Throughout the confinement, the woman remained under the control of the three individuals, and one of the suspects is alleged to have forced sexual contact with her during the period of captivity. The other two men were reportedly absent at certain times, which allowed the assailant to exert more control until the morning of September 14, when the victim finally escaped.
Following the escape, National Police officers promptly arrested the man accused of sexual assault, aged 33, and began tracing the address where the events occurred. A search of that residence yielded a significant amount of drugs and narcotics, aligning with the victim’s account and supporting the charges under investigation.
The authorities later detained another person in Murcia on suspicion of unlawful detention. The identity of the remaining third suspect has now been determined, and efforts to locate him continue as the case proceeds through the judicial process.
