The National Police apprehended a person under 17 who entered a Madrid cider house at gunpoint, accompanied by another young man associated with a well-known Chueca neighborhood venue. Police sources told Efe that the suspect allegedly fired two shots toward a staff member at the establishment, though no one was struck.

The Provincial Information Brigade, including units focused on youth gangs, launched an investigation into the incident. Investigators say the attackers could be linked to one of the area’s violence-prone groups, according to the newspaper ABC.

The events unfolded shortly after three o’clock on Sunday afternoon at a popular cider house on Hortaleza Street, in the heart of the capital. Two teenagers entered the premises with a clear intent; one of them, a 17-year-old Spaniard, was armed with a pistol and fired at a worker inside the cider house. The shots did not injure anyone, and the assailants fled the scene.

Two Mobility officers, who were nearby and had been alerted to the incident, intercepted the suspected gunman and restrained him at the location.

National and municipal police teams arrived at the scene and recovered a firearm from a backpack carried by the minor. He is expected to be placed under arrest as a suspect of attempted murder and transferred to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for formal processing.

Forensic Police investigators later arrived at the cider house to collect evidence related to the events. Local security cameras are believed to have captured footage of the incident, and authorities continue to search for the second young person involved.
