This National Police operation concerns a violent incident in Estremera, a town in the Madrid region, where a 41-year-old man was arrested after a brutal assault on his partner. The violent confrontation left a 37-year-old woman severely injured, and she was transported to a hospital by friends who helped move her to care. The suspects and victims were connected through a troubled domestic situation that escalated into a serious crime.
The events unfolded on a Thursday when police sources confirmed to EFE that the couple began arguing at a house in Estremera, a location where the woman had previously sought refuge during the dispute.
The man, who has a documented history of abusive conduct and other offenses, reportedly entered his vehicle and pursued the woman, driving at high speed along a narrow road within the municipality until contact was made with her or she was struck.
Instead of stopping to seek help or summon emergency services, the assailant allegedly forced the seriously injured woman into his car and drove her to a nearby residence where acquaintances aided in transporting her to a hospital located in the Southeast area of Arganda del Rey.
After the incident, the man allegedly returned to his vehicle and headed toward Madrid, prompting authorities to notify the National Police to locate him and secure the scene.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches near the suspect’s known address. In the Puente de Vallecas neighborhood around 9:30 pm, officers located a vehicle matching the description of the one used in the attack and intervened as the situation developed.
A pursuit followed, during which the suspect, with noticeable traces of blood on clothing and hands, attempted to flee on foot after abandoning the car, but was ultimately apprehended by officers who stopped him and placed him under arrest.
