News emerged toward the end of December that Atresplayer Premium secured the rights to a project tied to a provocative figure, following Lionsgate+ exit from Spain. A short time later, Atresmedia confirmed the premiere window for a long‑awaited drama inspired by the life of a famous adult film actor, Nacho Vidal.

The series, produced by Bambú Producciones, will bow in March with a date to be announced. The eight 50‑minute episodes promise to explore the contrasts within the adult industry, shedding light on the pressures, ambitions, and personal stories behind the headlines.

According to Atresmedia, viewers will also encounter the real talents that defined the protagonist beyond his widely known physique. The show traces his rise to fame in the 1990s and the rapid evolution of the industry in Spain, offering a dramatic comedy that holds these elements in common with its storytelling arc.

The cast for Nacho includes Maria de Nati as Sara Bernat, Vidal’s partner; Andrés Velencoso; Edu Soto; Miriam Giovanelli; Carmen Conesa; Montse Guallar; Nancho Novo; Albert Baró; Marina Gatell; Penélope Guerrero; Rubén Jiménez; Juan Carlos Vellido; Paola Bontempi; and Nuria Herrero among others.

This Nacho

In the narrative set in 1993, Ignacio Jordá, known as Nacho to friends, is portrayed as a dynamic, impulsive young man full of energy who seems to live on the edge. He grows up in a traditional Catholic family where his father sees little promise in his future and talents.

Yet the truth diverges from the initial expectations. Nacho is depicted as someone born with a rare talent. A turning point comes when Sara Bernat, played by Maria de Nati, offers a surprising gift and becomes his first great love. Nacho channels his drive toward a career in adult cinema, with aspirations to become an international star. The journey toward recognition and success becomes the central mission, a story of perseverance and reinvention.

The series was developed with Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Gema R. Neira, and Diego Sotelo at the helm. Terence Fernández-Valdés serves as showrunner, guiding production alongside Ramón Campos as executive producer. Leading directors include David Pinillos, Beatriz Sanchís, and Eduardo Casanova, while the screenplay is a collaborative effort from Fernández-Valdés, Neira, María José Rustarazo, and Flora G. Villanueva. [Citation: Atresmedia press release]
