Murder Investigation in Vologda Involving University Lecturer and Her Former Partner

A man detained in Vologda faces accusations related to the death of his former partner, a university lecturer. The details came from the Unified Press Service of regional courts.

Investigators report that on June 7 a 28-year-old Tajikistani national argued with his 36-year-old partner in an apartment on Marshal Konev Street. During the confrontation he strangled her and then stabbed her in the chest. The woman died at the scene.

According to a Telegram report, the deceased has been identified as Taisiya Tulina. She held a doctoral candidacy in economics and served as a senior lecturer at the department of general history and socio economic disciplines at Voronezh State University. Tulina reportedly met her alleged killer while at work. The man began dating a journalism student and they began living together. A recent escalation in tension between the couple occurred after the man learned about Tulina’s new novel. He allegedly entered her apartment during a dispute to confront her.

The suspect, who attempted suicide, is being held in a special medical facility for convicts and detainees. A criminal case has been opened. It is known that Tulina left behind two children, aged 14 and seven months.

Earlier reports indicate the suspect had been caring for his partner and his mother while stationed in the Northern Military District.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and collect evidence from the scene to determine motives and sequence of events. Details regarding the investigation are expected to be released by official channels as inquiries proceed. [citation]
