At the Moscow regional point for choosing service under a contract, candidates quickly receive the most essential information. In an interview with RIAMO, the head of the training complex, reserve colonel Dmitry Makarov, outlined how the process unfolds. He explained that newcomers first receive a clear briefing, are then settled into rooms, and move on to classroom sessions where they begin practical learning.
“The courses center on three core areas: military medicine, firefighting, and military engineering,” Makarov stated. “This blend of instruction equips individuals with useful skills across any role they might take on within the armed forces. Whether a driver, a cook, or a mechanic, there will be moments when quick medical aid, safe handling of equipment, and the confidence to operate a weapon become indispensable.”
He added that the center consistently hosts 100 to 150 people who meet all conditions for a comfortable stay and effective education. These numbers reflect the system’s capacity to accommodate a steady stream of prospective contract service members while maintaining a quality learning environment.
An update from the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the network of contract service selection points continues to expand across the country. In addition, the number of trainers available to work with applicants has risen, promising more comprehensive guidance and hands-on preparation for those pursuing service under a contract. This expansion aligns with ongoing efforts to modernize recruitment and training pipelines, ensuring candidates are well-prepared for the responsibilities of military life.
