A district doctor from Mordovia was found to have issued fake vaccination certificates in exchange for bribes, accumulating a total sum of 29 thousand rubles from patients. This information was released by the press office of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Mordovia.

During the investigation, it was determined that in 2021 a district physician from the therapeutic department of a Saransk medical facility provided certificates claiming preventive vaccinations. The certificates were obtained through a bribe paid via an intermediary, totaling 29 thousand rubles.

In total, 25 residents of Mordovia used the service to receive vaccination records without actual vaccination. In all instances, illicit cash was deposited into the doctor’s bank account as part of the scheme.

The Investigative Committee has completed its inquiry into the criminal case, and the particulars have been forwarded for adjudication on their merits.

The individual faced charges for two separate criminal episodes linked to taking bribes as part of the vaccination certificate scheme.

The case file is now with the court for a full hearing and decision based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.

Previously reported that the chief physician at the military registration and enlistment office in St. Petersburg helped individuals avoid military service for a fee. In those cases, citizens were issued military tickets marked with limited eligibility for service.
