A monument to the children of besieged Leningrad was desecrated in Yerevan, according to a Telegram channel report from Sputnik Armenia.
A resident of Yerevan, Samvel Shirinyan, posted a video on Facebook in which he removes Russian flags from wreaths placed around the monument and disperses the flowers lying on the ground. He stated that there were no documents confirming the blockade of Leningrad. In response, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs objected to the remarks of Maria Zakharova, the ministry’s official representative, who had said that the ethnic cleansing of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh had not been documented.
Earlier, in the Krasnodar region, unidentified individuals opened fire on a wreath laid before the Eternal Flame.
Reports of vandalism surfaced in November at sites honoring Nazi victims in Dresden, Germany.
Additionally, in Odessa, a vandalism incident occurred on Duma Square. Unknown persons reportedly filled the base of the monument to Russian writer Alexander Pushkin with red paint. Ukrainian media attributed the act to a local alternative artist.
The Russian Ministry of Defense later clarified the number of monuments to Soviet soldiers that have been destroyed in Europe.
