Mobilize, Renault Group’s mobility services unit, targets 20% of group turnover by 2030
Luca de Meo, chief executive officer of Renault Group, launched Renaulution last year as a plan to boost profitability. The roadmap includes Mobilize as the group’s mobility services division with substantial potential. About eighteen months later, Renault outlined the new unit’s strategy and, with figures illustrating its promise, set a goal to capture 20% of the group’s total turnover by 2030.
Clotilde Delbos, who led as interim chief executive until De Meo assumed the role in mid-2020, serves as managing director of Mobilize. The division will be organized around three core pillars: an integrated software ecosystem, specialized tools, and a portfolio of services spanning finance, insurance, maintenance, and energy management. Delbos notes that the focus is on selling services rather than physical mobility alone, securing ongoing revenue streams. She adds that the aim is to cover the mobility value chain elements with the highest growth potential and margins.
tool as a service
Mobilize has confirmed the development of its own vehicle, the Limousine, designed for shared use. The car will be fully electric and tailored to offer the full range of Mobilize services. An operating system crafted by Mobilize will enable customers to access all services from within a single vehicle. This software will form a major digital ecosystem for the brand to reach its ambitious targets. The initial version is slated to arrive in 2023 and will support wireless updates.
Upcoming Mobilize services highlighted include financial services, energy management, and maintenance. Through Mobilize Financial Services, the company intends to offer long‑term leases and subscription models to accelerate a fleet of its own vehicles. The goal is to reach roughly 1.2 million units across rentals and subscriptions. The lending axis will also extend to financing the purchase of used electric and refurbished vehicles, insurance solutions, and a universal payment ecosystem for charging electric vehicles.

Mobilize’s strategy envisions attracting taxi and ride-hailing operators with vehicle subscriptions, inclusive of insurance, maintenance, charging, and roadside assistance. The Duo electric car will be offered to car-sharing operators, featuring a variant called Bento for cargo use. A lighter delivery-focused model named Hippo is planned for last‑mile services, available through rental or subscription for businesses, with initial electric units based on Kangoo and Master platforms planned for rollout in the near term. In addition, automatic data collection will enable Mobilize to analyze vehicle usage and user habits, supporting new offers or adjustments to optimize fleet management and service quality.
The pillar of the Renault Group
Mobilize has laid out a roadmap that positions it as a central pillar of Groupe Renault by 2030, alongside the core vehicle manufacturing and sales business. Projections include Mobilize Financial Services delivering up to eight million financial services by 2030, with a trajectory toward six million by 2025. This follows the framework established by RC I Bank in 2021, and a Services segment expected to grow around 70 percent from the 4.7 million units already sold.
Financial offerings are planned for rentals or subscriptions of up to 1.2 million cars by 2030, up from the current level of 358,000, with 70 to 80 percent of those vehicles anticipated to be fully electric. In charging infrastructure, Mobilize anticipates deploying about 165,000 chargers across Europe, a substantial rise from the current 22,000. These services are designed to generate recurring revenue and increase Mobilize’s contribution to Groupe Renault’s overall revenue, rising from 6% in 2021 to 20% in 2030 and crossing the 10% mark sooner in 2025 as profitability milestones are achieved.
Overall strategy emphasizes data-driven optimization of fleet operations and service offerings. By leveraging usage data across the Mobilize ecosystem, Renault aims to refine pricing, expand the range of electrified options, and accelerate the adoption of subscription-based mobility across markets with strong demand for sustainable transport solutions.
