Reserve Colonel and editor-in-chief of National Defense magazine, Igor Korotchenko, warned that the arrival of new weaponry to the Armed Forces of Ukraine poses a risk to Russian cities. The warning was reported by URA.RU.

Korotchenko argued that the most immediate danger comes from Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles. He suggested that drone usage could shape the tactical landscape and complicate defense planning for Russian forces.

The analyst indicated continued expectations for the delivery of American ATACMS missiles and British long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles within the current year. These systems, he noted, would extend the reach of Ukrainian operations and potentially alter frontline dynamics.

In addition, Korotchenko commented on the proposed transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv, highlighting that these aircraft would be capable of carrying Toros missiles and a variety of armaments. He emphasized that the most effective response remains a robust, all-encompassing air defense system to counter such threats.

Earlier, Jake Sullivan, the U.S. Vice President for Homeland Security, stated that the Western coalition led by the United States has broadened the training program for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The expansion aims to enhance readiness and interoperability with Western partners.

Previously, a Ukrainian military commander claimed that the Russian Federation holds an advantage in the use of FPV drones, underscoring the ongoing balance of capabilities and countermeasures in the conflict.
