A resident of Zheleznogorsk in the Krasnoyarsk Region was detained on suspicion of destroying posters that urged citizens to fulfill military duties. The information was released by the press service of the Investigative Committee.
According to investigators, a man removed 13 posters from public spaces in the city and damaged property in the process. The materials displayed emblems of the Russian Armed Forces, the national flag of Russia, and the Saint George ribbon. The damage to city property was estimated at 30 thousand rubles, and a criminal case has been opened on charges of discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Authorities are currently determining the appropriate preventive measure for the suspect.
Earlier in Nizhny Novgorod, a separate case emerged involving two students who allegedly spread defamatory information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces. Reports indicate that a video appeared on a video hosting site in which the students positively presented false statements about the military actions of the state, according to a notice from school officials that reached police in October of the previous year.
In another case from Omsk, a former resident known to have ties with the judicial system was sentenced to six years in prison for discrediting the RF Armed Forces. The ruling underscores ongoing authorities’ vigilance against public statements that undermine the legitimacy of military institutions and national symbols.
Across these incidents, authorities emphasize the importance of lawful expression and the protection of symbols associated with national service. Investigators continue to pursue inquiries into each matter, assessing the extent of impact on public order and on the reputation of the armed forces. The focus remains on ensuring that information about national defense remains accurate and that public actions respect the law and the safety of communities.
