Reports indicate that the case began with the claim that Milena’s life ended in November of the previous year, in an apartment where the owner, described as the last person she interacted with, was later said to have taken their own life. Milena’s mother, Mabetys Castro, has urged authorities to reveal the truth behind her daughter’s death, insisting that Milena fell victim to a broader network that abused and exploited young women in the country. She turned to the Civil Guard in pursuit of justice and accountability.
