Mickey Nadal could not be present at the Vitoria-Gasteiz FesTVal edition in person. The presenter was involved in a serious car incident on his way to the Basque capital, but he remained safe. He later announced that he would introduce a new competition called Sopa de Letras, marking its return to Aragon TV after more than eight years, as shared on his social networks.
“We encountered a crash on the A1 at 08:57, just after Burgos. A left front tire failed, and in wet conditions the car spun more than 100 meters before hitting the guardrail. The airbags deployed, and everything happened in about ten seconds. We kept an eye on the traffic ahead, worried that a truck or another vehicle might collide with us. Fortunately, that did not occur,” Nadal stated in a recent Instagram post.
For a short time, according to reports, the host traveled in the car with the vehicle’s driver, journalist Ana Díaz, and the producer of the format, The Mediapro Studio, along with Non-Fiction director Amparo Castellano. The group left the situation feeling shaken, but none of the three occupants required medical attention, as later described by the portal covering the incident.
Nadal reflected that Madrid was now home after the events, noting how life can change in a moment and how easily people may forget how fragile it can be. He expressed gratitude for the concern shown and urged others to stay positive. The message drew comments from colleagues and television personalities including Adriana Abenia, Roberto Leal, Chenoa, Santiago Seguro, Iñaki Urrutia, and Florentino Fernández.
Despite the setback, Nadal joined the event remotely to present the details of the Aragon network’s new competition. The program is scheduled to premiere on Monday, September 9 at 21:30, and audiences can expect a fresh format that blends entertainment with linguistic puzzle elements. Observers noted the event’s resilience and the broadcaster’s commitment to delivering a new show after a significant hiatus. The overall response highlighted the ability of a live program to adapt in the moment and keep moving forward, even when unexpected incidents occur.
