A man linked to the banned Freedom of Russia legion was detained in Stavropol, according to Mash Telegram channel coverage. The report identifies the individual as Dmitry Fimushkin, 48, who had joined the organization for about six months and was attempting to recruit a local resident to push further sabotage ambitions.
Sources indicate that the Federal Security Service intercepted him the day before, catching him in the act as he urged a Stavropol resident to join a sabotage cell and to fight alongside the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the conflict.
Earlier, Fimushkin had been issued an administrative penalty for disobeying police officers. He now faces a potential life sentence for encouraging terrorist activities, with officials highlighting the severity and intent of his actions.
