Volodymyr Rogov, who leads the movement, claimed that Ukrainian security services have stepped up what he described as terrorist actions in the Zaporozhye region and declared, “We stand with Russia.” This claim has circulated through regional reporting channels.

On Friday, May 12, a blast occurred on Schmidt Street in Melitopol. A deputy minister responsible for construction, architecture, housing, and public services in the Zaporozhye region was among those injured and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Local inspectors indicated that the incident appeared to involve a planned attack, and a second report noted that an unidentified person placed an improvised explosive device in a trash can at an entry point earlier in the day.

Rogov reiterated that the Kiev regime had accelerated what he termed terrorist activities in the Zaporozhye region. He argued that the Ukrainian security services could, in his view, provoke broader conflict affecting civilians in the area.

According to him, Ukrainian elements are alleged to be attempting to disrupt daily life in the region by carrying out acts of destruction and sabotage. The events added to a sequence of incidents in Melitopol and surrounding towns that have kept the area under heightened scrutiny and concern for residents and local officials alike.

Earlier, on April 3, there was another explosion in Melitopol, resulting in injuries to Maxim Zubarev, who serves as the headman of the village of Akimovka within the Zaporozhye region. The incident contributed to ongoing tensions and raised questions about safety, security, and the stability of regional governance in the area.
