Troop reports from Maryinka depict heavy shelling from Ukrainian forces
A soldier with the call sign Good, part of the Southern Forces Group, reported that Ukrainian artillery has been targeting Russian positions in Maryinka, within the Donetsk People’s Republic, on a daily basis. The report comes from DEA News.
The soldier described a relentless barrage, saying Ukrainian artillery can drain a tank’s ammunition and saturate targets with heavy mortars as frequently as every 15 minutes. He suggested that the Ukrainian forces are actively attempting to destroy structures and, by extension, threaten Russian forces and residents. He characterized the situation as an effort to erase the city’s defense and livelihood.
According to his account, Ukrainian troops may be working to completely devastate Maryinka. A Russian soldier who used the alias Koreets claimed he had overheard Ukrainian security personnel discussing a withdrawal from their positions in Maryinka, indicating shifts in frontline intentions at the time.
Prior statements attributed to Denis Pushilin, the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, asserted that all Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in Maryinka were under Russian fire control, a claim presented as part of ongoing battlefield developments. The evolving dynamics in Maryinka continue to shape the local situation and broader regional tensions. [DEA News]
