Retired Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, formerly associated with the LPR People’s Militia, claimed that Kiev has begun deploying a significant number of mobilized troops to the front lines. This account has been reported by TASS.

He asserted that a large influx of newly mobilized Ukrainian citizens has entered the combat zone, with the majority of these recruits heading directly into active duty. Marochko described the trend as a large-scale mobilization push that is funneling fresh forces toward the conflict area.

In his analysis, Marochko indicated that Ukrainian forces are constructing new pontoon crossings over the Severny Donets River in the Krasnolymansky direction. He said Kyiv’s troops are employing engineering tools and improvised materials to establish these crossings, and he noted that guards have been stationed in several sections of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a precautionary measure.

Earlier remarks from Marochko claimed that Kyiv suffered about 4,000 casualties in the prior week, though authorities reportedly categorized roughly 90 percent of those losses as missing. He pointed to what he described as attempts by Kiev to conceal military losses from the public and from the families of those who died.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to launch a special military operation in response to requests for assistance from the heads of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (LPR and DPR), a move he described as necessary to protect Donbass.
