The operation to address the incident was carried out by agents affiliated with the local police department. A group of minors from the Malaga Provincial Police Station initiated the inquiry following a complaint from the victim’s father, who reported the brutal assault on his son at the police headquarters on the night of the events. The time is noted as around 21:30 on Friday, 31 March. Investigators indicate that not all alleged perpetrators have been located to date, and the search continues to identify every person involved.
On the night of the incident the victim went to the scene with several friends and encountered other youth groups there, including those suspected of taking part in the aggression. Reports from the Provincial Police Department describe a sequence in which a handful of youths assaulted the victim without apparent provocation, forcing him toward a point where he was attacked by punches, kicks, and kneeling and torch-like burns. The victim and others required hospital treatment for their injuries, which included a cut on the leg and numerous bruises around the eyes and other parts of the body as a result of the confrontation.
