A gas blast rocked an apartment building in Makhachkala, triggering a blaze that rapidly engulfed part of the structure. The incident was confirmed by the press service of the Dagestan Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Earlier, another emergency unfolded in Semender village, with the address listed as Elizarova Street, 25. Emergency responders assessed the situation on arrival and confirmed that the blast had occurred on the fourth floor of a five-story residential building, after which a fire took hold in the area.

At this stage, authorities are working to determine the extent of any injuries or fatalities as information about victims continues to be clarified by officials.

In a separate report, it emerged that a resident previously staying in Balashikha near Moscow had died in a gas explosion affecting two floors of a residence there. The details are still being verified by investigators.

To prevent the fire from spreading to other floors, emergency services promptly shut off the natural gas supply to the building. This decisive action helped to reduce the risk of a larger catastrophe while crews fought the blaze and searched for any remaining occupants.

Nine people were rescued from the burning building, including four children, and were assessed on scene by medical teams. Their condition at the time of rescue was not disclosed in the official updates, but responders remained vigilant for any evolving needs as the operation continued.

In another related scene, firefighters were seen extinguishing a burning vehicle located at the set of a production stage, known as Plevako, during the same period of concentrated emergency response. The incident underscored the broad range of risks faced by first responders when multiple crises unfold in quick succession, sometimes in the same community or region. All actions were coordinated by the regional emergency response authorities and reported by the Dagestan Ministry of Emergency Situations and its press service for public awareness and safety guidance.
