The 28-year-old man was reported in serious condition after a stabbing in Madrid, where he intervened to defend a woman who was being threatened by an unknown assailant on a Sunday morning.
Investigative sources cited by Europa Press indicate that the woman sought help as a stranger began menacing her. The incident occurred on Cebreros Street in the Latina district, near the exit of Lucero Metro station. Responding to her plea for help, the 28-year-old man stepped in to assist but was confronted by the attacker, who stabbed him in the face with a knife and then pursued him as he attempted to flee. The assailant struck the victim in the abdomen before escaping the scene.
According to the same sources, there was no established relationship among the three individuals involved. The attacker fled after the assault, while the wounded man received medical attention from Samur-Civil Protection at the scene.
Emergencias Madrid reported that Sable responders arrived at approximately 7:45 a.m. and found the patient with serious stab wounds and evident internal injury as indicated by evisceration results.
Although the victim’s condition remained stable, he was intubated to secure the airway and transported to a hospital in stable condition. He was later moved to the operating room, as described by a Samur spokesperson. The National Police have assumed responsibility for the inquiry and are pursuing the suspected assailant.
